Dorothy Grace Eastman Crosman, of Duxbury, passed away June 24, 2013 after a long illness. She was 85 years old. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late William and Ann Mitchell. Educated in Fall River schools, she joined the Air Force shortly after graduation from Durfee High School. There, she met and married her first husband, Robert Eastman. She was a homemaker for many years until she became a Circulation Librarian at Clement C. Maxwell Library at Bridgewater State College. She retired from this position after 26 years of service. Dorothy had many interests. She loved to read, played the piano, and followed a life long path of spiritual development. She devoted her energies and heart to years of community service. She was also a reporter for a number of years for a Catholic newspaper in Fall River, the Anchor. Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Dorland Crosman, a brother, Edward Mitchell (of Westminster, MA) and a sister, Mary Hodkinson of Fall River, MA, as well as five of her children: John Eastman (spouse, Brenda Eastman) of Swansea, MA, Ann Marie Blackwell (spouse, Robert Kearney) of Taunton, MA, Kathleen Goode (spouse, John Goode) of Swanzey, NH, Caroline Walters (spouse, Christopher Walters) of Arlington, MA, and David Eastman (spouse, Andrea Eastman) of Weymouth, MA. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Margot Berks (spouse, David) of Alameda CA, Robert Crossman (spouse, Betsy) of Guilford, CT, Peter Crossman (spouse, Deborah) of La Canada CA, and Darcy Crosman of El Sabrante CA. In addition, she is survived by 19 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the First Parish Church in Duxbury.
