Edward T. Dobbyn Jr. age 94, of Issaquah, Washington, died March 30, 2011. Mr. Dobbyn was born, raised, and educated in Quincy. He graduated from Quincy High School, Class of 1934. He attended Exeter Philips Academy for one year, and then graduated from Harvard University, Class of 1939. He later earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1952. Mr. Dobbyn lived in Washington for one year, previously living in California for many years. He lived in different states throughout his life including several years in Virginia and Illinois. He also lived in France for two years. He served in the United States Navy with twenty-three years of service. He attained the rank of Captain and served during World War II and the Korean War. He retired in 1963. Mr. Dobbyn then worked for Consultants and Designers in Hollywood, California for over twenty years. He was a Vice President and Manager in the Western Division. He served on the YMCA Board of Directors in Hollywood and was an active member and Past President of the Hollywood Rotary Club. He was also an avid photographer. Beloved husband for sixty-nine years of Irma W. (Wall) Dobbyn. Devoted father Edward T. Dobbyn III and his wife Kristine of Mercer Island, WA. Loving grandfather of Heather and Rebecca. Survived by four great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Robert E. Dobbyn and the late Barbara D. Egan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
