Gladys I. Landry Obituary
Gladys I. (Rossetti) Landry, 89 years of age, of Braintree, entered life eternal at South Shore Hospital, Nov. 5, 2013. She was born in Somerville and raised in Dorchester where she graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. She moved to Braintree 45 years ago and had been living for the past year with her daughter Ann Marie in Weymouth. Her father was the owner of Marliave Restaurant in Boston and she worked there for many years with her family members. She was also employed at the Moriarty Label Company and at the Massachusetts Business Equipment Company of Braintree which was owned by her late husband Alfred. She had been a volunteer at South Shore Hospital for many years and was a member of the Braintree Rotary Anns. Gladys was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Parish in Weymouth Landing. She was known as an extremely loving and caring person. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred F. Landry Sr. (Braintree Rotarian) who died in 1995. She was the loving mother of Ann Marie Giannini married to Frank F. Giannini of Weymouth. She was the stepmother of Alfred F. Landry Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., Rosemary Killen of Waquoit, Cape Cod, and the late Richard G. Landry and Robert J. Landry. Gladys is survived by her brother, Roy Rossetti of Fla.; and by grandchildren, including Kenny Landry, Lauren MacKinnon and Alexandra Dobbins all of Weymouth. She was the great-grandmother of Carly MacKinnon and Anthony Dobbins both of Weymouth. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell F. Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., Friday, Nov. 8, from 4-7 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 8:30 a.m., to be followed by a funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Washington St., Weymouth Landing, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
