H. Russell Carney, of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester and South Boston, died August 13, 2014. Beloved husband of his late wife, Joan (McDade) Carney; loving father of Russ, Joanne, Steven, Mary, Karen, Brenda, Dan, Jim, Linda and Donna. He was predeceased by sons, Kevin and Patrick. Also survived by many loving grandchildren. Mr. Carney retired from the South Postal Annex after a 37-year career and was also employed at Amtrak, MIT and US Steel for many years. He was a Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Ann's Church, 243 Neponset Avenue, Dorchester. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills, Sunday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
