Jerry M. Vaughan, age 63, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family, friends and his brothers and sisters from the Fire Department on Father's Day, June 16, 2013. Jerry was born in Plymouth, MA on December 18, 1949. He was the son of the late George M. and Margaret L. (Holman) Vaughan. Jerry was educated in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth Carver High School in 1969. He entered the US Marine Corps following High School and proudly served his country. Upon returning home from the Marine's, Jerry entered the Firefighting profession and became a family member of the volunteer Fire Department in Carver and a Firefighter for the Town of Plymouth. He proudly retired from both and enjoyed driving 18 wheelers across country, and exploring new sites in the United States. He was a member of the American Legion Post #40, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club of Buzzards Bay. Mr. Vaughan enjoyed riding his motor- cycle as one of his favorite past-times and was a member of the Red Knights Fire Fighters motorcycle club. He will be missed dearly by the many hearts he touched. Jerry was the devoted father of Brandi L. Bechard and her husband Joseph and the late Jeremy Vaughan of the US Merchant Marines. He was the beloved Uncle of Bonnie Van Buskirk of Pembroke and Chickie Celli of Plymouth. He was the cherished grandfather of Karianne, Skylar, Jared, Rayna, Eli, and Victoria. Visiting hours will take place on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Chiltonville Congregational Church, Sandwich St, Plym- outh from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Chiltonville Congregational Church at 9:00 a.m. followed by a gathering escorted by the Red Knights and the Patriot Guards to the Elks Club in Plymouth. Cremation will take place following the funeral service, and burial will take place on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Chiltonville Cemetery, Plymouth. Additional parking is available at the Plimoth Plantation Parking lot behind the church. Donations in his memory may be made to the Carver Volunteer Fire Dept.
