Joseph A. Calcio Obituary
Joseph A. Calcio, 86, of Holbrook, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, from age related complications. Joe is survived by his daughter, Judy Alagno (husband Frank) of New York, N.Y.; his son, John (wife Susan Calcio) of Wellesley; and his grandchildren, Maggie, Sarah, and Lucy Calcio. He was preceded in death by his wife Aldona in 2010. Joe was born June 11, 1927, in Boston, to John and Theresa Calcio. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1957 with a mechanical engineering degree. In 1957, he married Aldona (Strazdas) Calcio in Cambridge. Joe worked at Dresser Masoneilan for 42 years, was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He held a passion for music and classic western movies. Joe spent the past few years with loving support from his friends at the Heritage senior living community in Framingham. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Road, in Wellesley. Burial will follow immediately at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Henry J.
