Joseph E. Walsh, 84, (retired BPD), of South Boston, died May 23, 2013. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine "Kay" (McPhee) Walsh; devoted father of Leah and Larry Shea of Quincy, Kit Walsh of Quincy and Joseph Walsh of Brockton; father-in-law of Janet Walsh of Kingston; loving grandfather of Eva Shea, Matt and Chelsea Bailey Shea, Greg and Ashley Shea, Michelle and Ryan Scollon, Joseph Walsh, Jeff and Brit Walsh, Chris Walsh and Sean Walsh; great-grandfather of five; brother-in-law of Al and Evelyn Scott of Florida and Marie Theresa Walsh of Plymouth. He was like a father to John Cavanaugh of Weymouth. Funeral from the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester St., South Boston, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Gate of Heaven Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
