Kenneth W. Coburn Sr., 86, of Abington, died peacefully, May 26, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of 46 years to Virginia (Cote) Coburn. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Ralph, Sr. and Bessie (Chase) Coburn. Kenneth was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during WWII. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion Post 112 in Abington and Veterans of Foreign War Post 5737 in Abington. In addition to his wife Virginia, Kenneth is survived by seven children: Janet Ouellette and her husband Roland of Somerset, Susan Sullivan and her husband Jerry of Washington, Don Leach and his wife Kaarin of North Carolina, Edward Leach and his wife Cheryll of Brockton, Debra Leach of Connecticut, Donna Leach of Abington, and Kenneth Coburn, Jr. and his wife Kristy of Abington; 18 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Ralph Coburn Jr. and Janet Coburn and the father-in-law of the late Kendra D.L. Coburn. A funeral service will be held at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, on Thursday, May 30, at 11 a.m., officiated by his daughter-in-law, Rev. Kristy Coburn. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 29, from 4 - 8 p.m. Burial with military honors will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kendra D.L.
