Louise (Bernazani) Rossetti, age 93, died Monday, June 30, at the Saugus Care Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Peter A. Rossetti Sr. Born in Boston and raised in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Delphina (Chiesa) Bernazani. A graduate of Burdette Business School, Mrs. Rossetti worked as a secretary for Riverson Steel before she married. A Saugus resident for over 70 years, Mrs. Rossetti was a regular fixture at the family insurance company in Saugus. In 1971 at the age of 50, Mrs. Rossetti began running. She was a member of the Over 65 Runners Club, also a member of their Hall of Fame, the North Shore Striders and the Lynn YMCA to name a few. In 1992, a Louise Rossetti Women's 5K race was created as a living tribute to Louise as well as her daughter Suzanne Maria Rossetti, who died tragically Jan. 28, 1981. Over the years this race has become a "must run" for women of all abilities. Her most memorable experience was carrying the Olympic Torch in the relay leading up to the Salt Lake City Games of 2002. She is survived by one son, Peter A. Rossetti Jr. and his wife Joyce Vecchiarelli of Saugus; one daughter; Donna Rossetti-Bailey and her husband James of Marshfield; four grandchildren, Gabrielle Phipps and her husband William, Peter III and Chelsea Rossetti and Christina Bailey. Mrs. Rossetti was the mother of the late Suzanne Rossetti. She was the sister of George Bernazani of Saugus, Paul Bernazani of Va., John Bernazani of Chelmsford, Ethel Schillinger of Calif., Helen Prizio of Saugus, Claire Frassica of Chelmsford, Marion Pearson of Minn., and the late Frances Chubinski. Mrs. Rossetti was also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louises memory may be made to the Rossetti Family Scholarship Fund, 436 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, MA 01906 or to Life Choice Hospice, 790 Turnpike St., Suite 302, North Andover, MA 01845.
