Marjie J. (Anscombe) Milne, 88, of Quincy, died May 2, 2014, after a short illness. She was married in 1947 to Thomas G. Milne and celebrated 52 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Thomas Milne Jr. and his wife Sybel of East Bridgewater and Carol S. Hanlon and her husband John of Quincy. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and longtime friend, Rosemarie Fall. She was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Anscombe. Marjie was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She had lived in Quincy since 1962. She worked as a secretary for the Salvation Army for more than 25 years. She was a church organist and pianist in Boston. Marjie was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed spending time with her family and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 6, at 7 p.m. in the Hamel Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center. Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. prior to the start of the service. Burial will be private at Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjies memory to the Ellie Fund for fighting breast cancer.
