Paul L. McElroy Obituary
Paul L. McElroy, of Weymouth, died Aug. 23, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Paul graduated from Somerville High school in 1950, later moving to North Weymouth where he lived for 51 years. He was a United States Army Veteran and served as an MP in Germany during the Korean War. Paul worked as a crane operator in Quincy shipyard. He worked for Maher Fuel for many years and later started Weymouth Burner Services, Inc which he ran with his son before retiring. After retirement Paul would still go on calls to spend time with his customers, whom he cherished. He was a longtime member of the Quincy Elks for over 52 years. Paul was a coach for North Weymouth Little League and Senior League. He enjoyed the Red Sox, Patriots, dog tracks, scratch tickets and going on cruises. He will be sadly missed.
Beloved husband of 52 years of Mary (McHoul) McElroy of Weymouth.Devoted father of Paul McElroy Jr. and his wife Cathy of Weymouth and Denise Dow and her husband Bob of Middleboro. Loving brother of Marie Jenkins and the late Joseph McElroy. Cherished PopPop of Sam, Greg, Laura and PJ. Caring owner of 7 consecutive Boston Terriers all of which were named "Skippy". Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4 - 8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, North Weymouth, at 40 Sea Street (off Rte. 3A-Bicknell Sq.) Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, North Weymouth. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
