Richard C. Pierce, age 87, of Plymouth, formerly of Pembroke, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the Life Care Center in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Anne Whitaker Pierce. He is survived by his son, Stephen Pierce and his wife Maggie of Savage, Minn., his children, David Pierce and his wife Elaine of Guilford, Conn., Kim Pierce and her partner Cheryl Wright of Shingle Springs, Calif., Karen Kelley and her husband Dennis of Billerica, Candace Pierce Lavin of Norfolk and Christopher Pierce and his wife JoAnne of Melrose. Richard is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Born Dec. 5, 1925, in Quincy, son of the late Clarence C. and Abigail C. Pierce, Richard was a graduate of Thayer Academy, Maritime Academy, and Harvard University. He served as a Merchant Marine and in the U.S. Navy. Richard later went on to work as the owner of the family business, CC Pierce Electrical Company. He loved reading, computers, fishing and boating. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at the East Congregational Church, East Milton. Donations in Richard's memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
