Russell Kempton Pittsley, age 65, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-West in Boston. He was the devoted husband of Susan C. (Barker) Pittsley of Plymouth (Manomet), having both been raised in Monponsett. Born in Brockton, May 24, 1948, he was a son of the late Russell L. and Adelina A. (Costa) Pittsley. He was educated in Whitman-Hanson High School and was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School, Class of 1968. Following his graduation, Mr. Pittsley entered the U.S. Navy where he proudly served during the Vietnam War. In 1973, Russ married the love of his life Susan. They moved to Plymouth 39 years ago previously residing in Monponsett. He was employed for most of his life by the town of Plymouth starting with the Parks Department, Water Department and worked for the past eight years with the Carpentry-Maintenance Department. Russ was a devoted family man who held his family and friends dear to his heart. He held a special interest in his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their soccer and football games, as well as school plays. He was a talented music writer and in his earlier years was lead soloist in a band. He also liked motorcycles. Besides leaving his wife, Susan, he was the loving father of Chad Pittsley and his wife Heather of Manomet, Stefanie Burdick and her husband Kenn of Saracuse, N.Y., Amanda Bussolari and her husband T.J. of Plymouth. He was the beloved brother of Hal Fasulo of Simi Valley, Calif., Shirley Craft of Pensacola, Fla., Scott Pittsley of Berkley and the late Joseph Fasulo. He was the cherished grandfather of Ashley and Jake Bussolari, MacKenzie and Cameron Burdick and Kempton and Mason Pittsley. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth. The funeral service will be held at Memorial Hall, 83 Court St., Plymouth, with Pastor Neil Eaton of the New Hope Chapel officiating. Interment will be in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth. He touched so many lives and if you were lucky enough to have known Russ then you were lucky enough.
