Theodore J. Ted Rouillard Jr., Quincy Fire Department, Retired, age 83, a lifelong Quincy resident, died peacefully, Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at the Marina Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Quincy, raised and educated in Quincy schools and was a graduate of Quincy High School. Ted was a Quincy firefighter for thirty-nine years. He was appointed to the Department on Jan. 26, 1957. During his career he served at Headquarters, in West Quincy and was assigned to Engine 6 in Houghs Neck, when he retired on April 30, 1996. As a young man, he worked at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. He was also employed for many years at the former Rouillards Caf in West Quincy. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the destroyer tender, the U.S.S. Shenandoah AD 26. Ted enjoyed ballroom dancing, boating and played hockey in the Quincy Senior Bald Eagles League. Beloved husband of the late June I. (Cantelli) Rouillard. Devoted father of Debra A. Elder and her husband George, Patricia M. Kobzik and her husband Paul all of Quincy. He was also father of the late Theodore J. Rouillard III who recently passed away on Aug. 22. Cherished grandfather of Danny and Kristen and cherished great-grandfather of Julianna and Joey. Brother of Phyllis DeCristoforo of Quincy and Patricia Seckinger of Kingston. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Loving companion for many years of Carol Rowe of Weymouth. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Friday, Sept. 5 at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
