Thomas E. Clark Jr., former proprietor of Park News, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born 81 years ago in Taunton. Mr. Clark was the husband of Anna L. (Dugan) Clark and the son of Thomas E. and Anna May (Sheehan) Clark. He was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of Coyle High School. He ran his store, in the heart of downtown Taunton, for 62 years, despite battling Multiple Sclerosis for the last 41 years. It was here that he enjoyed the company of good friends who would stop by each morning to share stories and many good laughs. He also loved chatting with his customers and had a special way of making a lasting impression on all who walked through the doors of his store. Most importantly, he enjoyed working alongside his loving wife of 55 years, Anna. Mr. Clark enjoyed time with his family, spending time at the Cape, and was an avid Red Sox and Pats fan. His grandchildren were a special joy to him as he took interest in their education, attended their sporting events and simply enjoyed spending time with them. He was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton and was a veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Clark is survived by three sons, Thomas Clark and his wife Maria of Taunton, Dennis Clark and his wife Carol of Taunton and William Clark and his wife Darlene of Bridgewater. He leaves one daughter, Maureen Watts and her husband Steve of Taunton. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy, who resided in Schererville, Ind., with his wife Catherine. Lastly, he is survived by 13 grandchildren, Kyle Clark, Brittany Clark, Meaghan Clark, Kerri Clark, Shannon Clark, Jacqueline Clark, Katherine Clark, Jaime Clark, Ian Clark, Ryann Clark, Drew Watts, Ally Watts and Erin Watts.
