CHESNEE, SC-- Mr. Bobby Reid Greenway, 81, of Chesnee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Born April 18, 1932, he was the loving husband to Martha Davis Greenway, his wife of 53 years and was the son of the late James "Jim" Greenway and Mary Cabaniss Greenway. He retired from Akers Motor Lines as a driver. Later, he opened G and R Used Cars and then went into selling tractors and farm equipment. He attended Chesnee First Baptist Church, was a Mason and a member of the American Legion; he also proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp earning the bronze star for valor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Doris Greenway; sister-in-law, Susan Greenway; niece, Lacy G. Hines (TJ); nephew, Brandon J. Greenway (Megan); great-niece, Tonja R. Robertson; and great-nephew, W. Reid Hines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Azalee G. Robertson; brother, Billy Eugene Greenway; and nephew, Roy Robertson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Chesnee First Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Grogan and Rev. Larry Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
