CHESNEE, SC-- Bobby "Bob" Thomas Waddell, 66, loving husband of Rhonda Newton Waddell of 232 Oak Street, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
Born April 30, 1946, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Rev. Toy Thomas Waddell and Sendy Grubbs Waddell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a former police officer, car salesman and gospel singer and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Bobby Beagle and wife Holly of Virginia Beach; daughters, Stacey Johnson and husband Morris of Inman, Kyra Kendrick and husband Danny of Cowpens, Katrina Belcher of Chesnee, Keisha Scruggs of Chesnee, Kayla Waddell of Chesnee, and Alicia Bailey of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Hannah, Sam and Tucker Beagle, Madison and Courtney Montgomery, Kelsey and Kennedi Burnett, Zabian Kendrick, Jonathan Smith, Madison and Mackenzi Scruggs, Ryleigh Wyatt, and Erin Matthews; nieces, Tammy Kelly of Greenville, April Terry of Greenville, and Dee Dee Splittgerber of Columbia; and nephews, Danny Thomas of Greenville and Donnie Greene of Fayetteville, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Connie Greene, Betty Jo Terry and Jean Andrews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold King and Kenneth Cash officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
