CHESNEE, SC-- Frank Harris Hyatt, 88, husband of Alice Gaither Hyatt, died January 1, 2014, at home. Born January 24, 1925, in Anson County, NC, he was a son of the late John Bell and Margaret Hanna Hyatt.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII's Pacific theater, Frank completed his service and was employed by the USDA in Beltsville, MD. He worked there until retiring to Chesnee to rabbit hunt with his beagles and garden. He and Alice attended Grace Baptist Church in Landrum; his love for the Bible was shown in his reading through it yearly for 61 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Vice and husband, Daniel, of North Charleston, SC; a sister, Katie Dimick and husband, Gayle, of California; two grandsons, Andrew and Josiah Vice. He was predeceased by two sisters, two brothers, and nine half brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, at Bobo Funeral Chapel officiated by Rev. Nick Vance. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service. Private burial will be in the M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
