George Norris WOODRUFF, SC-- George Norris, 87, passed away on Sunday August 31, 2014 of natural causes. He was a man of God and is now in a better place. He was born in Greer but served as a pastor for many years in Florida. When he retired in 1994 he and his wife Yvonne moved to Woodruff to be near her parents Pierce and Juanita Cook. During this time he served as interim pastor at West End Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church and was active in Belview Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by his wife Yvonne, who he was married to for over 64 years, their daughter Marie Morton, their son Frank Norris, two sisters Naomi and Nancy, seven grandchildren, eleven great grand children, and one great-great grandchild, as well as a large extended family and many others who were enriched by knowing him. According to many who knew him, 'He was the nicest man I have ever known'. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday September 2, 2014 at Belview Baptist Church in Crescent, followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM.
