Herbert Clifton Canada, Jr.

SPARTANBURG, SC-- Herbert Clifton Canada, Jr., 89, died September 19, 2013, at Summit Hills Retirement Home. Born in Lubbock, TX, he was a son of the late Herbert Clifton Canada and Mamie Covey Canada and was married to the late Betty Eslinger Canada.
Mr. Canada formerly resided in Union for 32 years and retired as Vice President and General Manager of Webb Forging Co. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines having served during WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and had attained 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. He was a conservative Presbyterian, a loved, respected gentleman, a great family man and a family legend.
He is survived by a son, Richard C. Canada and wife, Jackie of Union; five grandsons, Dustin Canada and wife, Darlene of Flagstaff, AZ, Jason Canada of San Diego, CA, Daniel Canada of Union, Stephen Arnold of Union, and Evan Canada of Carlsbad, CA; two granddaughters, Christine C. Jones of Flagstaff, AZ, and Jennifer Arnold of Spartanburg; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Charles Canada and a sister, Billie C. Meyers.
Memorial service with military rites will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Bobo Funeral Chapel with Rev. Justin Kendrick officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
