J. Richard Beltram

SPARTANBURG, SC-- J Richard Beltram, 90, of Spartanburg, SC passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2014. Born January 27, 1924 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of Quirino and Josephine Beltram. Originally from Livingson, NJ where he resided for 60 years, J Richard spent his entire career as a business owner of Intedge Industries, a food service manufacturer.
Affectionately referred to as "JR", his many involvements included President of The Board of Trustees for the Presbytery of Newark, NJ, an ordained Elder of The Livingston Presbyterian Church, a Charter Member of The Newark Central Lions Club, a member of The Board of Governors of Newark Academy (class of '41), a member of The Princeton University Alumni Association (class of '45), and an active member of The Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club, Beach Haven, NJ. He was an avid supporter of education with involvement at Lafayette College, Easton, PA and Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA. J. Richard was a decorated veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy as a communications expert. JR was a man of faith, a devoted and loving husband for 65 years and a steadfast father.
He is survived by his wife Irma, and 3 children, Rick (Spartanburg, SC),Laura (Fullterton, CA) and Gail (Hoboken, NJ). Also survived is a sister Marie McIlvenan of Denver, CO. His legacy includes 4 grandchildren, Stacey, Kelley, Steven, and Peter as well as 6 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held this Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 AM at The
First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg.
