LYMAN, SC-- John (Bobby) Robert Bishop, 85, of Lyman passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was the widower of Margaret Price Bishop and the son of the late Jason H. Bishop and Bertha McMakin Bishop. He was retired from Lyman Printing & Finishing after 49 years and later worked at Spartanburg Automotive. He had served proudly as a veteran of U.S. Navy during WWII.
Survivors include a son, Carey Robert Bishop of Lyman; two daughters, Kay Bishop Bailey and husband Larry of Spartanburg and Linda Bishop Camp and husband Larry of Pauline; three sisters, Marguerite Taylor and Imogene B. Bowyer and husband Edgar all of Spartanburg and Helen Burrell of Greer; six grandchildren, Donnie and Alicia White, Lindsey Edens, Tiffany Parnell, CJ Bishop and Larry Camp, Jr.; ten great-grandchildren, sister-n-law; Peggy Bishop and brother-n-laws; Ray Price and wife Eunice and Bobby Price and wife Fe. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Bishop, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at The Stribling Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Carson Rogerson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to service. The interment will be at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
