INMAN, SC- Robert Brian Cothran, 40, of Inman, died March 30, 2014. Brian was the husband of Rebecca Sherbert Cothran, and was the son of Robert Olin and Emily Faye Jackson Cothran.
Brian served as a dispatcher for the S.C. Highway Patrol 13 years and more recently was a dispatcher with SRMC transportation. He became a Junior Fireman in the Inman Community at the age of 14, served many years, and most recently was an honorary member of the Una Fire Department. Brian was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Spartanburg.
In addition to his wife and parents, Brian is survived by his daughter, Alexandria Bryan Cothran; his daughter from a previous marriage, Shannon Nicole Cothran; his maternal grandmother, Emily Ruth Jackson; mother and father-in-law, Jackie and Ray Sherbert; grandmother-in-law, Margaret Riley; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews; and many special friends he's made through the years while working with law enforcement, fire fighters and EMS.
Brian is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elvin Lee Jackson and his paternal grandparents, James Olin and Vera Epley Cothran.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Living Waters Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Covenant Baptist Church, with interment in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
