CLIFFORD, Angela Catherine (Age 91) Passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 91 on June 2, 2014 surrounded by her family. How do we express on paper the type of person our Mom/Nana/GG was . . . The best place to start is in God's Word. After all, He created this Angel and we were so blessed that He also chose us to be her children, family and friends. You only had to spend a few moments with her to feel her genuine love, compassion and pure heart. Proverbs 31 speaks about the virtuous woman, and the Hebrew meaning of that is much wider in meaning than the English one - it means "strong in all moral qualities." This is our Mom, your Nana, your friend. She laughed often. She valiantly handled a significant amount of adversity in her 91 years that would have crushed most people. But not Angie - she never wavered from her strong foundation and faith. Her kindness, fortitude, strength and her radiant example of God's unconditional love will forever be our beacon. Thank you, God, for giving Mom, Nana, Angie, to us; and thank you, Mom, for giving us all of the above, plus countless lessons and innumerable fond memories. Proverbs 31:28a - "Her children arise up, and call her blessed" - and we certainly do. Now, here's what Mom pre-wrote, as was so typical of Mom, so we wouldn't have to worry about details at this time: Angela Clifford was born in Croatia, Yugoslavia, to John and Frances Chor, on October 13, 1922. She came to Anaconda, Mont., in 1933 at the age of 10, where she attended local schools and Business College. She was employed as a legal secretary. She married "the love of her life," Jack Clifford in 1946. He passed away in 1991. Angela lived in Lewiston, Idaho, from 1950 to 1993. During that time, Angela was employed at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center as Administrative Secretary from 1970 to 1987. She was a member of the hospital Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters, Elks Club, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and a Red Cross Volunteer. Angie moved to Spokane in 1993 to be near her two daughters. Here, she put in more than 3,100 hours as a volunteer at Valley General Hospital, and was involved at the Mission Senior Center and St. Mary's Church. Mom loved her volunteer work, playing cards, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and most of all visiting with family and friends. Anyone fortunate enough to be in that circle knows how precious those times with Angie were. Preceding Angela in death are her husband, Jack (1991), son Robert ("Skipper") in 1966 (age 19), and Kevin in 1977 (age 17). Surviving Angela is her son Dick (Vicki) Clifford; their two sons: Robert (Michelle) and David (Hilary); son, Jack (Maureen) Clifford and their two daughters: Kathleen and Megan; daughter, Maryann (Steve) Entzminger and their three sons: Kevin (Stephanie), Brian and Paul; Carla (Kurt) Stevenson and their two children: Rachel and James; along with five great-grandchildren John, Zachary and Sarah Clifford and Michael and Gavin Clifford. Rosary will be held on Friday, June 6th at 5pm, at Hennessey's Funeral Home in Spokane Valley. A mass to celebrate Angela's life will be held on Saturday, June 7th, at 11am at St. John Vianney Church, in Spokane Valley, followed by a reception. Angela will be buried at the family burial site at Normal Hill in Lewiston, with an intimate service, at sunset. In lieu of flowers Memorials can be made to the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Foundation, 415 Sixth Street, Lewiston, ID 83501. Please visit Angela's online memorial at, and leave a message of condolence. Arrangements have been entrusted to:
