DALLAS, Ian M. (Age 79) Of Liberty Lake, Washington passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family July 6, 2014. He was born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland November 16, 1934. Proceeded in death by his brother, James; his parents: Mary and James. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean; two sons: Gordon (Deborah) and Andrew (Kim); four grandchildren: Lindsay, Ian, Meagan and Kathryn; and sister, Marella (Norman) Ayling of Glenrothes, Scotland; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ian served in the British Merchant Navy as an electrician on an oil tanker before immigrating with Jean to Durban, South Africa, followed by six years working on the Williamson diamond mines of Tanzania. Thereafter, he immigrated to Southern California where he worked for Byron Jackson, General Motors and Kimberly Clark. After retiring, he moved closer to family and enjoyed his favorite hobbies, organic gardening, watching soccer, golfing, reading and fishing. He quickly became well known in Liberty Lake where he was nominated to become the President of Meadow Wood Golf Course Men's Club for two years. When not golfing and enjoying his barbecue, he enjoyed frequently traveling to his home in Scotland as well as visiting his family in Minnesota. For those who had the pleasure of meeting him, he filled the room with laughter, charm, and charisma. He lived for his family and especially loved showering his grandchildren with love and support. The family has conducted a private family service and has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Liberty Lake/Meadow Wood Men's Golf Club Scholarship Fund for students; 24501 E.
