March 10, 1927 - April 19, 2014 James age 87, died from natural causes on April 19th 2014,at the home of Robert and Pamela Harmon. Jim was born March 10th, 1927 in Granville North Dakota. The son of Emmet and Glenda Harmon, the family moved to Spokane in 1937. Jim graduated from West Valley High School and went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corps. After the military, he then teamed up with brother Cecil and spent several years building single family homes around the Spokane area. In December 1956, Jim married Emily "Frances" Old. They were married 55 years at the time of her passing. Jim had a successful career in the United States Post Office and retired Post master of Cove Oregon. Jim is survived by his sister Norma Johnson of Spokane, sons Bart Harmon of Fairfax VA and Robert Harmon (Pam)of Spokane WA, stepson Jerry Mattson (Jane) of Spokane WA, stepdaughter Donna Larkin (Pete) of Ferndale WA, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jim is Preceded in death by Frances (spouse), brothers and sisters Jack, Cecil, Russell, Moody, Melba, Mona, and daughter-in-law Nita (Bart). Memorial services for Jim will be held at Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene 1:00 PM May 17, 2014.
