PARKER, Karen B. (Age 71) Passed away July 29, 2014 in Spokane, WA. She was born January 29, 1943 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. She is survived by her husband, Larry A. Parker (of 52 years) whom she married on July 26, 1962, in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska; son, Darrick (Christina) Parker, Federal Way, WA; and daughter, Rene (Howard) Rosenfeldt, Seattle, WA. She has five grandchildren: Miyah Rosenfeldt, Jaimie Rosenfeldt, Danni Rosenfeldt, Regina Christianson, Randy Gallettie; and great-grandchildren: Ashley Gallettie, and Randy Brian Gallettie, Jr; she is also survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Horbul and Shirley Clark. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob Cast. She has been a member of the community for 35 years. She enjoyed coordinating monthly luncheons for the Retired Administration Building Secretaries of the Spokane Public Schools (The Lunch Bunch). She volunteered her time both sewing dog coats and blankets for The Spokane Humane Society, as well as donating coats and blankets for the rescue dogs of the Oso Mudslide. She was a courageous breast cancer survivor of 35 years. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a person of incredible warmth, love and compassion for everyone she met. Through her thoughtful notes, messages and care packages, Karen honored every birthday, graduation and special moments of her family and friends. She and Larry enjoyed traveling extensively in their R.V., seeing much of the Mid and Western U.S. including Alaska. Karen also enjoyed her annual trips to Hawaii. Memorial Service to be held, Saturday, August 9th at 2:00PM at Hennessey Funeral Home and Crematory 2203 N. Division. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Humane Society of Spokane.
