SCHUPPE, LaVonne Beloved Mother and Sister, LaVonne Jean Schuppe passed away on October 25, 2013, at home after a brief but courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on November 11, 1932 in Wallace, Idaho to Walter and Dorothy Grasser. The family moved to Spokane, Washington shortly thereafter where LaVonne spent her childhood. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1950, working for the Credit Bureau of Spokane after graduation. LaVonne's first marriage to Michael Mazzacone in 1954 ended shortly after they were wed when he was tragically killed in an airplane accident. LaVonne later married Kenneth Schuppe with whom she had three children. She was a devoted mother who stayed home to raise her children. LaVonne loved to travel and due to Ken's career was able to travel the world, extensively. She was thrilled to spend a portion of her life residing overseas in the Middle East. She was a competitive bridge player who earned the prestigious title of "Bridge Life Master." She was also a skilled cook who prepared delicious family meals and loved to entertain in her home. Some of her favorite memories were of family vacations and camping trips. She was an avid angler who loved fly fishing the creeks and streams of western Montana. She is survived by her sister, Diana Peters who devoted herself to LaVonne's care in the final years of her life. She is also survived by son, Michael (Sandi) Schuppe of Kent, Washington; daughter, Lisa Knapton of Covington, Washington; and Mark(Colleen) Schuppe; and grandsons, Kyle and Danny Schuppe of Yakima Washington; and nephews, Steven and Brian Reisdorf; and niece, Tracy Reisdorf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Schuppe, and her parents, Walter and Dorothy Grasser. There will be no formal services, however there will be a Mass conducted in her honor to be determined at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Union Gospel Mission.
