JEFFERY, Leonard "Milt" (Age 71) Milt was born June 26, 1941 in Seattle, WA to Leonard and Rosetta Jeffery. He passed away January 31, 2013 in Spokane. Milt graduated from Chief Sealth High School in Seattle. After high school Milt joined the Air Force. He met June Smith and they were married on September 28, 1963. While in the Air Force Milt was stationed in places such as Blaine, WA, Mica Peak, Tampa, FL, Kotzebue, AK, Biloxi, MS, Tin City, AK, Watertown, NY and finally settling back at Fairchild Air Force Base. After Milt retired in 1984 from military life he started a new career. He became a corrections officer with the Spokane County Sheriff's Department. Milt never met a stranger and treated his inmates with the same love and respect as his Savior Jesus instructed him to. Milt became involved with the jail ministries and was also involved with baptisms in the county jail. Milt loved his church family and could be found cooking in the church kitchen several days a week. He loved serving and helping people whenever he could. Milt's outreach was also worldwide as he furthered God's Kingdom with a Russian mission trip. Milt also loved auto racing and working on cars. He was head "wrench" for his son Shaun when they went racing. There were also many a fish that were brought in during his fishing trips. Milt was always out to lend a helping hand to everyone he came in contact with. He is survived by his wife, E. June Jeffery, at home; son, Shaun (Holly) Jeffrey of Fayetteville, GA; brother, Wilfred Jeffrey of Yakima, WA; grand- children: Blaze, Jett, Cruise and Eden Jeffrey of Fayetteville, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Rosetta Jeffery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 from noon to 5:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00 am at Spokane 1st Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd., Spokane, WA 99218.
