HOWARD, Lewis Warren, Jr. (Age 94) On January 7, 2014, Lewis Warren Howard, Jr. passed away suddenly in Spokane, WA, leaving family and friends saddened by their loss of a loving father, grandfather, great-grand-father and friend. Lewis was born in 1919 in Waialua, HI, where his father was a chemist and his mother taught high school. For many years, Lewis was manager of a construction company and later worked in real estate on the island of Maui. After retirement in 1989, the Howards relocated to Spokane. Lewis' on-going commitment to service organizations reflected his belief that a good citizen should give back to his community. He participated in the Chamber of Commerce, Community Chest, Cancer Society, Red Cross and Kiwanis Club. In Spokane, Lewis joined the Rotary Club and for many years made home deliveries for Meals on Wheels. Lewis is fondly remembered for his strong work ethic, great sense of humor, memorable story-telling skills, and deep commitment to family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of seventy years, Juliette. Lewis is survived by daughters, Amy Howard (Maggie Montana), Patricia Pizarro (George); and son, Warren Howard (Ann); as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. There will not be a funeral service in Spokane; however, when arrangements can be made, there will be burial and memorial service held at Oahu Cemetery in Honolulu, HI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vanessa Behan Nursery in Lewis' name.
