KNIGHT, Wesley Keith Born May 17, 1944 Died December 2, 2013. On a bright sunshiny day in El Paso, Texas, a star was born to Nyla Pearl Smith. Wesley was the oldest of her seven wonderful children. Being the oldest meant being in charge, and Wes always liked getting his way. With Wes's charms he could easily wiggle his way into anyone's heart. Most of Wes's childhood was spent in Spokane, WA. He graduated from Rogers High in 1962 and served overseas in Vietnam until wounded, which earned him the Purple Heart. After living in several areas of the U.S., Wes settled in Reno, NV from 1981 to 2013. Wes was known as the "Oldest Gay Bartender in Reno", a title he was very proud of. Leaving his extended family in Reno was extremely hard for Wes, but his siblings in Spokane welcomed him home with open arms. His family assisted him with many months of cancer treatment until our Mother called him to be by her side. His loss will be felt by many and our grief is eased knowing Wes was loved and will live on in the hearts of others! He is survived by his siblings, Jeanette Gulliford (Dale), Marilyn Knight, Richard Knight, Larry Knight (Chris) (a special thanks to Larry and Chris from all of us), Gayle Knight, Nyla Rieman (Tim); and numerous nephews and nieces.
