WEAD, Edward R. Longtime Bucyrus Attorney Edward R. Wead, 73 of rural Sycamore, passed away Wednesday evening at home following a short illness. Ed grew up and went to school in Springfield where he graduated from Springfield Central Catholic High School in 1958, he served as class president. He continued his education at Bowling Green State Univ. on a football scholarship where he graduated with a Science and Business Administration degree in 1963. Ed was enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1963 during Vietnam and received a purple heart. Following his military service Ed returned to the Univ. of Toledo where he graduated with a degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1966. Ed is survived by wife Kathleen "Kate" Bils who survives along with children Brian (Hope) Wead of Rocky Mount, N. Carolina; Amy Bernard of Brunswick, GA; step children Jason (Alison) Hillyer of Galena and Tate Hillyer of Galion; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 3 step grandchildren; brother Fred (Patty) Wead of Florida; sister Barbara (David) Wetnight of California. Visitation will be at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus on Sunday from 1-5 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Gifts for Yanks or Fairway-Waycraft through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
