News Death Notice

HAMBRICK, James "Jim" William age 81 of Catawba, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 14, 1931 to the late James T. and Emma F. (Carter) Hambrick in Richwood, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Sonya Hambrick and his siblings: Ona Hambrick, Oscar Hambrick, Billy Hambrick, Fred Hambrick, Helen Blizzard, Hazel Buckner, Gladys Scott, Gracie Sizemore, Beulah Van de Linde, Betty Jane Hambrick and Annabelle Thomas. He is survived by his loving children: Don (Chris) Hambrick of Columbus, Georgia, Brad (Sharon) Hambrick of Catawba, Ohio, Kenny (Melissa) Hambrick of Springfield, Ohio and Cathy (Larry) Hofmeier of Baldwin City, Kansas; grandchildren: Tyler, Levi, Brighton, Hunter, Kendall as well as a sister, Nellie Frazier of South Charleston, West Virginia and special friends: Violet Mabry and Bud Berkshire. Jim was a member of the Union Club and received the Purple Heart for his time served during the Korean War in the United States Army. He retired from Cascade Corporation after 31 years of dedicated service. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Funeral services to follow on Saturday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at McConkey Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Springfield Regional on 4 North and ICU along with Dr. Narcellas, Dr. Andom, Dr. S.
