News Death Notice

KING, Lucile H. 88, of Springfield, died Sunday morning, January 6, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gaysport, Ohio on July 6, 1924, the daughter of the late David Grant and Mabel Lucile (Powelson) Holman. Lucile was a graduate of The Ohio State University. She worked as a registered dietician for Community Hospital and Mercy Medical Center. She later helped develop the Nutrition Project for the Elderly, Dayton. She was a member of Central Christian Church and the Dayton and Ohio Dietetics Associations. Survivors include a daughter, Lola Marie (Joey) Malone of Mechanicsburg; son William King of Logan, Ohio; sister, Orpha June Metzger of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Paul (Wanda) Holman of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Michelle King and Grant Rodgers; great grandchildren, Ayden, Adyson, Maddox, Magnus, Emma, Lylah, Declan, Shai, and Skylar; sister-in-law, Nancy Holman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. King; a brother, David Holman; and a grandson, Craig King. Lucile's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Holroyd Chapel of Central Christian Church with Pastor Warren Banks presiding. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
