News Death Notice

DAY, M.Sgt. William A. "Gus" 80, of Xenia and formerly of Springfield departed this life on February 12, 2014 with his daughter by his side. He was born April 7, 1933 in Xenia, a son of the late James and Helen (Graves) Day. He graduated from Xenia City Schools and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 36 years of service. Mr. Day was employed for many years at General Motors, Moraine Plant. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Springfield and was a member of the Middle Run Baptist Church in Xenia. He recently attended the First United Christian Church in Xenia. Mr. Day leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Kelly S. Day-Brown of St. Paul, MN., three brothers, Aaron Day of Long Beach, CA., Theodore (Carolyn) Day of Dayton and Fred Day of Xenia; a sister, Sharon of Xenia; special granddaughter, Brandi and her children; great grandchild and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Beverly; second wife, Kathy; son, William M. "Billy" Day; sister, Shirley Ann and a brother, James Day. A celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, February, 19, 2014 in the First United Christian Church, Xenia, OH. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon in the church. Arrangements by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial will follow in Fercliff Cemetery with military honors. M.Sgt. William A.
