PARKS, William "Bill" E. 60, of Springfield, died on Saturday July 7, 2012. He was born January 12, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late William Earl and Mary Alice (Cozad) Parks. Bill served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam Conflict. He was a Patrolman for the Springfield Police Division for sixteen years and retired in 1991. He began working for City of Springfield in 1991 and retired in 2002. He was currently employed with ABF Freight. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Teamsters Local 957, Union Club, Machinist Club, Social Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles Champion Aerie 397. He loved traveling, outdoor activities, karaoke and helping others. He is survived by his wife Cindy J. Parks of thirty-four years; three sisters, Linda Fultz, Joanne (Dennis) Raines and Patricia Prince all of Springfield; brother, Danny (Sharon) Parks of California; three nephews and a niece, John Parks of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Les Fultz, Jonathan Tarvin and Tosha Boyd all of Springfield; several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Terry Parks. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where FOP services will be held at 7:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 11, 2012. Burial will follow with military honors in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the .
