Dr. Allan M. Finley, husband of Dr. Teresa Brennan, passed away on Sept. 17, 2013. He was born on Aug. 15, 1949, in Thomaston, Ga., the son of John W. and Margherita Finley.

Dr. Finley received a bachelor"s of science degree in civil engineering from UC Berkley; a master"s degree in engineering from Virginia Tech; a doctorate of osteopathy from Western University. He completed his OBGYN residency at Naval Hospital San Diego.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a yeoman, civil engineer (Sea Bee), and lastly as a medical officer, retiring as a captain from Naval Hospital Jacksonville.

Dr. Finley enjoyed spending time with his family and the many friends he had met during his travels in the Navy.

Allan is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Teresa M. Brennan; daughters, Tory A. Finley and Sierra A. Finley; sons, Carson A. Finley and Max Finley; adopted son, John Reese Finley; his parents, John W. and Margherita Finley; his brother, John Finley; sisters, Kim Phillips and Barbara French; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be Friday at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park, FL 32073, 264-1233 from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward"s Chapel NAS, Jacksonville, FL 32212.Donations may be made in Dr. Finley"s honor to the Wounded Warriors Project and .
