Charles C. "Chuck" Hukill, 74, of St. Augustine, went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2013, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa, Chuck served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He went on to attend Penn State University and the University of Nebraska. Chuck enjoyed a 26 year career with the Gulf Oil Company in New Jersey, working his way up from a truck driver to a terminal manager, before retiring in 1995. He was a longtime resident of Middleton, N.J., and Bayshore, L.I., N.Y., and had been a resident of St. Augustine since 1995. In his retirement, he was employed by the Shores Golf Club for 15 years. Above all, Chuck was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Hukill of St. Augustine, Fla; daughters, Laura Hendricks of St. Augustine, Karen Barclay and Teresa Kret, both of Middletown, N.J.; a stepson, David Burrows of California, and eight beloved grandchildren.

Visitation will take place 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck"s memory may be made to the , 1430-B Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
