Donald "The Telephone Man" Spaulding, 81, St. Augustine, died April 15, 2013, at home.

Survivors include sons, David Spaulding, Franklin, Tenn., Jimmy Spaulding, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; step children, Kim (Herbie) Wingo, St. Augustine, Kevin (Laura) Mullen, Alpharetta, Ga., and Peter Mullen, Panama City, Fla., and several grandchildren.

Don was born July 9, 1931, in Cortland, N.Y. He served four years in the Navy during the Korean War. After Don"s honorable discharge, he moved to Florida in 1959 and worked at Bellsouth for 32 years. He went into business for himself as (your telephone man) until December 2001 when a spinal stroke caused him to sell his business.

Don"s wife, Diana (Dee) Spaulding was the love of his life; she passed away in October 2007.

Don was a pilot, sports car racer, fireman, EMT, Fire Chief Station 9 SPU, Mason, Shriner and an avid animal lover.

He will be missed by his family, friends and his beloved dog, "Max."
