George "Frank" Lyon, 58, of St. Augustine, died on July 29, 2013, at Flagler Hospital.

Born and raised in England, Frank moved to the States at the age of 16. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and later served in the British Army for two years. Frank worked for many years as a commercial truck driver, and most recently he enjoyed working in the maintenance department and risk management at Flagler College. Frank enjoyed the study of history, especially military history, and it was said that "he never forgot a thing". Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George Archibald and Agnes Rosalin Lyon; uncles, Don Howard and Robert Monahan; and a cousin, Billy Goodson.

He is survived by his mother, Beryl Brown of St. Augustine; brother, Greg Brown and his wife, Mary Lou, of Elkton, Fla.; and brother, George Lyon of England; a sister, Jacqueline Monahan of Niceville, Fla.; a nephew, Noah Brown, and a niece, Addyson Brown, both of Elkton; an aunt, Norma Howard of Niceville; and cousins, Kerry Lynn and her husband Alan Wayne, Alan Wayne Jr., Tracy Lynn, Kayla, Patrick, Alana, Georgie, Gaynor, Tommy, Archie, Cheryl, Karen, Bradlee and Brandon.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Father Tim Lindenfelser and Chaplain Kelly Kemp officiating. A visitation, beginning at 6 p.m., will precede the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to: Haven Hospice, the (local) St. Augustine Humane Society or to .
