June Court, 81, of St. Augustine, passed away on April 16, 2013, at the Ponce Therapy Care Center. Born and raised in Detroit, Mich., June had lived in Apopka, Fla., before relocating to St. Augustine in 2001. She owned and ran a convenience store for many years before retiring. June was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Apopka, and belonged to the German-American Club of St. Augustine. She was also an active member of Good News Church. Above all, June was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by a son, Jeff Court, and his wife, Sheri, of St. Augustine; daughters, Jacqueline Court of Sorrento, Fla., and Jill Court of DeLand, Fla.; a brother, Art Winter, and his wife, Nancy, of Clark Lake, Mich.; a sister, Eleanor Lewis, and her husband, James, of Jackson, Mich.; sister-in-law, Nell Winter, of Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessica, Shannon, Nicole, Christina, Jaime and Michelle; and a great-grandchild, Aliyah.
A funeral service will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Smiley Sturgis, officiating. A visitation, beginning at 3 p.m.,will precede the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to Community Hospice of N.E. Fla., 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
