Kathy Tragemann of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away on Oct. 21, 2012 at 1:45 a.m. at the Bailey Center after a strong and courageous battle of 15 months with lung cancer.
Kathy was born to C. Harold and Dottie Wills on June 13, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio. She was raised in St. Clair, Mich., graduating from St. Clair High School in 1963. After attending Michigan State University, she married Dick Tragemann, an Army officer, on Jan. 8, 1966. The couple served the Army throughout the country and overseas for the next 31 plus years. Kathy loved the Army and contributed immeasurably to the morale and social fabric of the units and post communities wherever she resided. She was an outstanding athlete, and she loved boating, golfing, skiing, and cruising the seas. She was a strong and ever-present supporter of scouting and sports efforts of her three children.
Kathy is survived by her husband of more that 46 years, Major Gen. Dick Tragemann (ret.) of St. Augustine; children, Rick (Emily) Tragemann of St. Augustine; Lt. Col. Bart Tragemann of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and Brooke (Jeff) Saunders of Loganville, Ga.; sisters, Nancy Wills and Sally (Grant) Achatz of St. Clair, Mich.; brothers-in-law, Steve Tragemann of St. Augustine, Tom (Roe) Tragemann of Ambler, Pa.; Fred (Sandi) Tragemann of Wheaton, Ill.; grandchildren, Taylor, Nick, Morgan, Grace, Ann, Tara along with many nieces and nephews.
Kathy"s gift of friendship and joy was spread with her bright spirit and has been a blessing to us all.
A celebration of her life will be announced in the near future.
