Lois Harper Savage passed away at her home on March 9, 2013, at the age of 89.
Lois was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on May 1, 1923. She grew up in State College, Pa., where she attended Penn State University. Her sense of wanderlust got the best of her and she traveled to NYC where she graduated as an RN from Metropolitan School of Nursing. Lois worked as a government nurse in the Canal Zone where she married her husband of 50 years, Pierce. Lois"s life and work took her to many places from Connecticut to Saudi Arabia. She and Pierce retired to St. Augustine, a place she called home for more than 25 years.
She is predeceased by her husband Pierce and sons Patrick and Pierce. She is survived by her daughter Vicki Lee Evans (Hank), grandson Colin Savage, brother Donald Harper (Pat), nephew Craig Harper (Carla) and children, nieces Marci Scott (Randy) Brianna and Tyler, Kim Harper (Forbes) Mackenzie.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica in St Augustine, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cathedral-Basilica would be appreciated.
