Ronald Curtis "Ron" Ciampo Sr., 67, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away on Feb. 29, 2012, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Ron served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon relocating to Florida, he worked as a security officer at Walt Disney World for 23 years, retiring in 2002. Ron moved from Davenport, Fla., to St. Augustine in October 2004. He was a member of San Sebastian Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Melonie Ciampo Bratcher of St. Augustine, and Ronda Ciampo Smith of Maryland; a son, Ronald C. Ciampo, Jr., of Maryland; brothers, Curtis Ciampo of Waxhaw, N.C., and Billy Ciampo of Delaware; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012, at San Sebastian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father John Gillespie, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery.
