Affectionately known to his family and friends as "Red" or "Uncle Donnie", Charlie was the epitome of a hardworking and dedicated family man. He was a generous and caring soul, who was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a dear friend to many.
Charles attended Stamford schools and graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1951. Following high school, Charles entered the U.S. Navy where he served during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Bonhomme Richard. Upon his discharge from the service, he attended the University of Connecticut and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Charles worked for Petro Oil Company in Stamford for 38 years until his retirement in 2006.
Charlie loved his annual family vacations to the Jersey shore and frequent visits to Florida where he could just relax and spend quality time with his family. He enjoyed learning about history, listening to jazz, and was an avid reader. Above all, Charles was happiest just spending time with his family and close friends. He was truly a special person to those who knew and loved him, and will be sadly missed.
