LAMENDOLA, DENNIS J.
Dennis J. Lamendola, 66, of Bethel, beloved husband of Marlene (Ferraris) Lamendola, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, April 12, 2014, after a long, courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma.
Dennis was born on July 19, 1947, in Plainville, NJ, son of the late Emmanuel and Marie (Weibel) Lamendola. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Christopher of Flagstaff, Arizona and Jeffrey of Arvada, Colorado; a brother, Raymond and his wife, Edna, of Lebanon, NJ; a nephew, Joel Lamendola of Vermont; a niece, Michele Sparan of Stamford, CT; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Dennis was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in horticulture. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in Erlangen, Germany. He worked for many years in outdoor nursery sales and recently retired from a long career at Roth Nursery in Armonk, NY.
Dennis was a wonderful family man who enjoyed spending time with his sons both in Connecticut and out West. He took great pride in his home and its landscape. Along with skiing and attending NASCAR races, Dennis and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially to Sedona, AZ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, Bethel, on Friday, April 25, at 10:00am. Interment will be private. The family will receive guests immediately before the mass and following the mass at St. Mary Church.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Martin Abrams and his staff at the Praxair Cancer Center and the Danbury Radiation Department for their extraordinary care of Dennis. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) at www.themmrf.org
