ALLEN, Alcott A.

Age 88, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Alcott was born in Elmira on May 30, 1925 to the late Jesse and Dora (Sage) Allen. Alcott served our country in the US Army during WWII and retired from the Elmira School District after many years as a bus driver. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Allen of Elmira; granddaughters, Marci E. Wright and Amy A. Oatmeyer, both of Elmira; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Airik, Kyle and Alex Wright, all of Elmira; 1 great-great grandchild, Micah and another one due in August, along with several nieces and nephews. Alcott was predeceased by his wife, Marylou in 2005 and sister, Phyllis Young. Family and friends are invited to call Monday, March 3, 2014 from 4 to 6 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 6 pm with Pastor David Sullivan officiating. Alcott was a great father, grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend. He will be missed dearly.
