"Horny"

Age 75 of Rogers Rd. Wellsburg, passed away Tues. Mar. 4, 2014 at home with his beloved wife, friend and caregiver at this side following declining health. Born on June 20, 1938 in Elmira, NY; Bob was the son of the late, William A. & Mable L. Collins Hornbeck. In service to his country Bob was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and Reserves. He married Sharon Yorke on Sep. 23, 1967 at Southside Baptist Church. In those 47 years not a day went by that Bob didn't make Sharon laugh. A good provider, Bob was employed by American LaFrance for 23 years. Later he operated, Hornbeck's Country Store for many years on the South Creek Rd. (S. Broadway) formerly Judson's Country Store. It was there where he was his best. Daily he welcomed his neighbors, often times stopping just to hear his stories and enjoy his endless humor. A musician, Bob entertained many while a member of "The Mystic's". He had a Heart of Gold, and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Surviving is his loving wife, Sharon Hornbeck at home; former son-in-law and "adopted son", Michael (Penny) Morrison; granddaughter, Rachel (Brandon) Moats; grandsons, Fred Morrison and Robert Baldwin; great granddaughters, Cadence and Destiny; sisters, Jean (Harvey) Houston, and Barbara (Robert) Russell; brother, James (Barbara) Hornbeck; several nieces and nephews; in-laws, Corlene Edwards, Clair (Joyce) Yorke, Zelda (Ernie) Ducharme, Yvonne (Joseph) Schipani, and Joyce Diana (Seth) Sharp; along with countless friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Camielle Morrison; sister, Jane (Walter) Locke; and his in-laws, who he thought of as his own parents, Howard & Edna Yorke. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport/Elmira on Sun Mar. 9, 2014 between the hours of 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7:15 p.m. Graveside committal services will take place at the family's convenience in Forest Lawn Memorial Park where full military honors will be accorded Mr. Hornbeck. Memorials in Bob's name may be made to the , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
