Condolences to the family of Alex DeCroce. It was indeed my distinct pleasure to have worked with Alex when he chaired the Assembly Transportation Committee. Working for the Office of Legislative Services, I had the opportunity, both as a financial analyst and for a short while as committee aide, to assist Alex and his aide, Melverne Cooke, in the various legislative renewals and changes made to the Transportation Trust Fund. Also, his sense and concern for the need to repair and maintain bridges in our state was readily apparent and translated into bridge bond proposals which easily won voter approval. His steadfast support and knowledge of the state's transportation system will be difficult to replace.

Again my condolences.

Betty Lou, PJ, Christopher, and the entire DeCroce family. Alex and I enjoyed breakfast together just a week before Christmas. He was looking forward to your trip to Florida and we talked mostly about his most joyous subject, you. Much will be said over the days, weeks, and months about Alex and his political acumen, his business savvy, his statesmanship. All I can tell you is that our chats centered on you and his grandchildren. He cherished all of you and he cherished his friends. I am proud to have been one of them and I will very much miss my friend. Peace - The Kreeger Family

My family along with the State of New Jersey is mourning the loss of Alex. He will truly be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
