Malcolm Aalholm Obituary

Malcolm Wallace Aalholm of Parsippany, N.J., passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was 95 years old. A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 215 Boulevard, Mountain Lakes, N.J. 07046, on Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m. Arrangements are in care of the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, Boonton, N.J. For online condolences or information, please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com. Malcolm was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., and lived the past 60 years in Parsippany, N.J. He was a graduate of Germantown Academy in 1935 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1939, with a bachelor's degree in history. He went on to serve faithfully in the U.S. Army in World War II as a 1st lieutenant in the infantry. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. After the war, Malcolm worked for U.S. Gypsum, retiring from their Tarrytown, N.Y., office as facilities supervisor. He was a former member of the Old Guard in Madison, N.J. Malcolm enjoyed traveling with his wife, June, in Europe, especially France. Surviving are his beloved wife of 67 years, June (Spansail); devoted daughter, Ann Gallagher and her husband, Neil, and loving grandsons, Matthew and Timothy. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Market Street Mission, 9 Market St., Morristown, N.J. 07960 would be deeply appreciated.
